Oklahoma to get upgrades to stadium
ARDMORE, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Board of Regents has approved a $370 million upgrade to the OU football stadium.
The regents met in Ardmore and approved the plan Wednesday.
The project includes filling in the corners of the south end zone. There will also be a new weight room, equipment room, new team areas, coaches' offices and the relocation of athletic offices that are currently housed in the north end zone.
Other projects will include demolishing the press box and constructing a new one, expanded fan concourses and new fan plazas plus additional restrooms, concession stands, guest services and team stores.
OU president David Boren says the project will be paid for with private funds, revenue bonds and other athletic funds and that no public funding will be used.
