Some players are finishing their college careers, while a few have hit an early stride to make their way onto our list of 10 players to watch during the upcoming season.

During her first year at Northeastern in 2009, now-senior forward Crystal Poland led the team in points, which was the first time a freshman led the team in scoring since 1989. Last season, she was ranked second in the nation in goals per game (1.23) and fourth in points per game (2.64).

During her three years at Northwestern, Chelsea Armstrong has set records for both career goals (71) and career points (173). After the 2011 season, she was named a first-team All-American.

Last season, Penn State forward Kelsey Amy was ranked No. 6 in the nation with 25 goals and 57 points which earned her honors as a first-team All-American.

Coming into her senior season at Rider, Marlaine Scheider is 11th in school history in all-time scoring with 83 points. in 2011, Schneider was ranked eighth nationally in assists (17) and points (49).

Last season, Monmouth senior Nicole Manziano had 12 defensive saves, which was not only a team best, but also a national season record.

UConn goalkeeper Sarah Mansfield finished the 2011 season with a .752 save percentage and 1.24 goals against average. Her overall record is 35-9 and she is on track to beat the record for career victories (58).

As a sophomore in 2011, Erica Borgo finished second in the country for assists per game. She also set a school record with 17 assists in 17 games. Since her freshman season, she has started every game for the Yale Bulldogs.

North Carolina's Kelsey Kolojejchick was the first UNC freshman to earn first-team All-America honors. Since then she has earned the honor two more times. In 2011, she averaged 2.20 points per game and 0.92 goals per game.

Stanford defender Becky Dru is the 14th athlete in school history to be named first-team All-American. She is the first player to lead the team in scoring for back-to-back seasons since 2007. In 2011, Dru earned a career high 39 points and 16 goals last season.

North Carolina sophomore goalkeeper Saskia Ammer was third in the nation for goals against (17) in her first season with the Tar Heels. She also started in 25 games earning a 20-2 record.
