NEW ORLEANS, La. - NCAA Football, the marketing and promotional voice of college football, has named Jeremy Boyce to serve as program manager for its newly created youth program, which it will launch in New Orleans this spring to help revitalize youth football in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The total impact of the program will reach $750,000.
Boyce, originally from Dallas, recently completed his Masters in Sports Administration degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where he also served as an intern with UNC Football Operations. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelors degree in Communications and was a multi-sport student-athlete at Trinity University in San Antonio where he competed in football and track and field.
In his new role, Boyce will be based in New Orleans where he will work closely with NCAA Football constituents in the area including but not limited to the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the Sun Belt Conference, University of Louisiana Lafayette, Southeastern Louisiana University, Nichols State University, Tulane University and Louisiana State University to organize clinics for volunteer coaches, officials and game administrators. Additionally, he will develop and monitor the coach’s stipend program and the distribution of balls and uniforms in cooperation with the New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD).
"You cannot underestimate the tremendous affect NCAA Football’s Youth Program will have on the youth in this region and as is evidenced by his previous accomplishments in academics, athletics and in collegiate sports administration, we are confident in Jeremy’s ability to effectively manage this extremely important initiative," said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Wright Waters.
