MANHATTAN, Kan. – Fresh off a six-win season and several months of offseason conditioning work, the Kansas State football team will hit the practice field for the first time this spring today with the first of 14 workouts leading up to the April 24 Purple/White game.
K-State returns 40 lettermen and 12 total starters from last year’s 6-6 squad and will look to continue to make strides under head coach Bill Snyder, who is in his 19th season overall at Kansas State and second since returning from a three-year retirement.
The Wildcats finished 4-4 in Big 12 Conference play in 2009 and were one win shy of advancing to the Big 12 Championship game. K-State will be led in 2010 by All-American and Doak Walker Award candidate Daniel Thomas at running back and safety Tysyn Hartman, an All-Big 12 performer on the field and an Academic All-District selection for his work in the classroom.
All tickets to the spring game, which kicks at 6:10 p.m., are priced at $5 and may be purchased beginning 10 a.m. Thursday at www.k-statesports.com, in person at the K-State Athletics Ticket Office or via phone at 1-800-221-CATS.
