OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Army QB Trent Steelman
A senior from Bowling Green, Ky., Steelman entered Army’s historical annals in pacing the Black Knights to their first win of the 2012 campaign, 34-31 over visiting Boston College. Steelman rushed 22 times for 141 yards and three touchdowns, breaking the Army record for career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback; the last of his scores was the game-winner, with 45 seconds remaining. Steelman added 79 yards through the air on 5-for-12 passing, as Army snapped an eight-game winless streak.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Navy LB Matt Warrick
A senior from Chesterfield, Mo., Warrick was a physical presence in Navy’s 28-21 overtime victory at Air Force. Warrick’s 11 tackles included two tackles for loss, the last of which forced the Falcons into a final-snap 4th down-and-6 that the Midshipmen stopped to cement the comeback win. Warrick reached the ten-tackle plateau for the sixth time in his Navy career.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Navy PK Nick Sloan
A freshman from San Diego, Calif., Sloan had a perfect day from the placement spot as Navy battled from behind for a crucial 28-21 overtime win at Air Force. Sloan kicked field goals of 39 and 41 yards, and made both of his PAT attempts, helping the Midshipmen take a significant step toward securing the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy.
