Heidelberg Jumps Out to Early Lead, Cruises Past Crusaders, 45-10

BEXLEY, Ohio - Heidelberg University raced out to a 31-0 lead over host Capital University and never looked back in a 45-10 OAC win.

Quarterback Michael Mees (North Ridgeville) was 17-for-33 passing for 283 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

C.J. Powell (Detroit, MI/Bishop Foley) caught six passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. Teammate Donteea Dye (Fairfield) caught five passes for 107 yards.

Cartel Brooks (Kokomo, IN/Galion) rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.

Justin Suddeth (Warren/Howland) recorded nine tackles and had an interception in Heidelberg’s defensive effort.

Heidelberg, 5-0 for the first time since 1993, won in Bexley for the first time since 1999.

The Student Princes will return home next week for a mid-season showdown with Otterbein University. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
