Big East Names Players Of The Week

BIG EAST OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chas Dodd • Fr. • QB • Rutgers • Lyman, S.C.

Dodd made his first career start in Rutgers’ BIG EAST opener against Connecticut and led Rutgers to a 27-24, come-from-behind win against the Huskies. He threw for 322 yards – the most by a BIG EAST player this season – and completed 18 of 29 passes with two touchdowns. Dodd engineered two scoring drives in the final four minutes to bring the Scarlet Knights back from a 24-17 fourth-quarter deficit.

BIG EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Max Suter • Sr. • SS • Syracuse • Ruffs Dale, Pa.

Suter was the catalyst of a Syracuse defense that limited USF to 219 yards of offense and had two interceptions and four sacks in the Orange’s 13-9 win in Tampa. Suter had a game-high eight tackles, including three tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble to help Syracuse to its first 4-1 start since 1999.

BIG EAST SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
San San Te • Jr. • K • Rutgers • Conover, N.C.

Te scored nine points and kicked two field goals, including a 34-yard attempt with 13 seconds left to cap Rutgers’ 27-24, come-from-behind win against Connecticut in the Scarlet Knights’ BIG EAST opener. Te also made a 28-yard field goal in the second quarter and moved into third place on Rutgers’ career field goals chart (39).

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Isaiah Pead, RB, Cincinnati — Rushed for 197 yards and a touchdown on just 10 first-half carries in a 45-3 win against Miami (Ohio).

Darius Ashley, CB, Louisville — Had seven tackles and two sacks in a 56-0 win against Memphis.

Bilal Powell, RB, Louisville — Rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries in a 56-0 win against Memphis.

Manny Abreu, LB, Rutgers — Had a career-high 10 tackles with a tackle for loss and a forced fumble in a 27-24 win against Connecticut.

Brad Starks, WR, West Virginia — Had four receptions for 100 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-10 win against UNLV.
