Four Honored as Big 12 Players of the Week

Robert Griffin III (Baylor), B.J. Beatty (Colorado), Ugo Chinasa (Oklahoma State) and Jeremy Reeves (Iowa State) have been selected Big 12 Conference Football Players of the Week, as selected by a media panel. Griffin III (offense) was honored for the second time in his career and first occasion this season. Beatty (defense), Chinasa (defense) and Reeves (special teams) picked up their first career recognition.

Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week
Robert Griffin III, Baylor, QB, So, Copperas Cove, Texas

Robert Griffin III set the school record with 444 total yards in Baylor's win over Kansas. He threw for a career best 380 yards and tied career highs with three touchdown passes, 26 completions and 36 pass attempts. The sophomore was also the team's top rusher with 64 yards on eight carries, including one touchdown. Griffin III led the Bears to school records for total yards (678), points in a Big 12 game (55) and largest margin of victory (48) in a conference outing. He completed the longest play in school history with a 94-yard touchdown pass.

Big 12 Defensive Players of the Week
B.J. Beatty, Colorado, OLB, Sr, Kaaawa, Hawai'i

B.J. Beatty had five tackles including four solo and one tackle for loss in Colorado's win over Georgia. He made the biggest defensive play of the season by the Buffaloes when he forced a fumble with 1:55 left in the game. Georgia was driving for a winning field goal attempt and was at the CU 27, when Beatty burst through the backfield and forced a fumble that was recovered by teammate Jon Major.

Ugo Chinasa, Oklahoma State, DE, Sr, Richardson, Texas

Ugo Chinasa recorded six tackles, including five solo stops in Oklahoma State's win over Texas A&M. He had two quarterback sacks for 15 yards in losses and another tackle for a one-yard loss on a fourth down play. Chinasa also deflected and then intercepted a pass that he returned 22 yards.

Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week
Jeremy Reeves, Iowa State, DB, So, Allen, Texas

Jeremy Reeves made a career-high 10 tackles and preserved Iowa State's win over Texas Tech by returning an onside kick 42 yards for a touchdown after the Red Raiders had cut ISU's lead to seven. Reeves' return was Iowa State's first kickoff return for a score since the last game of the 1994 season and only the second in Jack Trice Stadium which was built in 1975. Luther Blue took a return back for a score against Nebraska in 1976. It was Reeves' second touchdown in two weeks after he returned an interception 94 yards for a touchdown in Iowa State's win over Northern Iowa.
